Supporting Children with Additional Needs
Our service offers a range of support for children who experience difficulty accessing full time education. This may stem from anxiety leaving the home, difficulty in the school environment or other reasons that contribute to the challenge of everyday life. Our tailored approach will support your child to access learning in ways that support their needs. This includes small learning sessions to build confidence, playing of games to establish relationships which develop trust and leading to the establishment of positive learning behaviours. The most important aspect of this work is to give your child the tools to re-access the school learning environment through a carefully devised strategic plan.
Your child’s needs are central to our work whatever their diagnosis. Working positively together to build a successful partnership with your child can help to strengthen outcomes and develop their confidence.
We offer:
- Tailored tuition built around each learner’s strengths and needs, including children and young people with SEND.
- Mentoring that supports engagement, resilience and ongoing participation in education.
- Flexible delivery in the home, school, community settings or online.
- Bespoke support that reflects your child’s pace and priorities – not a one-size-fits-all model.
What Can You Expect
Typically, this includes –
- Supporting the day-to-day coordination of your child’s education programme.
We believe strong relationships are key to helping learners re-engage and make progress. We workclosely with parents and carers to develop these, recognising your expertise in your child’s lived experience. You can expect:
- Regular updates on learning and engagement.
- Open conversations about your child’s goals and progress.
- Supportive, clear conversations that aren’t generic, prescriptive or overly technical.
- A professional, collaborative relationship built on mutual respect.
Parents and carers can also expect staff and tutors to be polite, punctual, conscientious and compassionate at all times.
Our experienced tutors deliver bespoke 1:1 session for your child. These sessions always take place during the day, in term-time only, in the learner’s home. The content of the sessions varies but is always built around approved learning programmes designed by Charlie a qualified teacher who runs the service.
Safeguarding
The safety and wellbeing of all children and young people we work with are our top priorities. We follow statutory safeguarding guidance and have robust procedures in place to protect learners at all times.
We monitor all learner attendance live and have in place a protocol for the rare event that an unaccompanied learner does not attend a community session. All of our locations are risk assessed for safety, including field trips and activities.
If you have any concerns about your child’s welfare, you can raise these with your allocated tutor, Education Programme Lead or our safeguarding leads at any time.
