Whether your child is learning to read and develop their phonics skills or mastering the complexities of the Year 6 curriculum, we are committed to helping them succeed.
Our role is to bring learning to life through engaging activities that stimulate curiosity, strengthen knowledge, and build confidence. Over time, children apply their newfound understanding across all areas of their learning.
Activity 1 – Building Relationships
Each session begins with a recap of previous learning and a discussion about your child’s week. This helps build trust, deepen understanding of their interests, and identify any new learning needs. A strong, positive relationship is the foundation of progress.
Activity 2 – Teaching Maths
Maths activities involve a clear and structured breakdown of methods, guiding your child step by step. New strategies are introduced to develop fluency and deepen understanding. Learning is adapted to suit your child’s needs, building confidence through small, achievable steps.
Activity 3 – Teaching English – Reading and Writing
English sessions focus on grammar, reading comprehension, and writing techniques. Teaching is carefully guided and adapted to develop understanding, confidence, and effective application.
A wide range of writing genres is covered through a structured approach, including recounts, diaries, stories, editorials, historical writing and more. Pupils develop both style and clarity while learning how to organise and express their ideas effectively.
Activity 4 – Homework Support
If homework needs to be completed or a test paper worked through, your child will be given the understanding and tools required to answer questions confidently. Through a guided, step-by-step approach, they learn how to apply both new and prior knowledge effectively.
Activity 5 – Developing Learning
When reviewing work and identifying next steps, a range of strategies is used to close learning gaps and strengthen understanding. Rehearsal, recall, practice, and application are key tools that help children grow into confident, independent learners.
